New York, NY- In a bold attempt to revive hipster credibility in what was once New York City’s most avant- garde neighborhood, the fine established art galleries in SoHo have collaborated to create a “happening”, when twenty exhibitions will be held simultaneously.

The arts walk wil be held froml April through September on the 3rd Thursday of every month.

SoHo had long enjoyed a reputation for its sophisticated and eclectic art galleries in days gone by when the likes of Andy Warhol and  Jean-Michel Basquiat roamed the cobblestone streets, and rents were low.

Since then, haute couture designers and chichi retail stores have driven up the rents and virtually exterminated many galleries from the area.

With the aim of reclaiming SoHo's reputation and artistic energy, the SoHo Arts Walk invites the public to discover a backyard event that is hosted by the renowned galleries that have remained standing. From a local artist in a working studio, to cutting-edge galleries of International acclaim, the exhibitions presented will appeal to a diverse spectrum of art lovers.

A map that pinpoints all of the participating galleries, and includes exhibition details can be picked up at Animazing Gallery (465 Broome Street, at Greene) or at www.SoHoArtsWalk.com.
